Top Performers at Gilbert & Gaillard Tasting 2021

For 30 years Gilbert & Gaillard have been known as the French experts on wine, so we’re thrilled to share our top-performing wines in the first quarter of 2021.

South African Gilbert & Gaillard tastings are done in Stellenbosch, yet the wines are rated by more than just our wonderful South African palates. When your Gilbert & Gaillard representative stops at the winery to collect your wines and you’re greeted by that alluring accent that drops out like short staccato notes in a Chopin Nocturne; “Ello” - there’s no doubt about the authenticity and the Frenchness of the panel tasting your wines. It has been a treat to work with Olivier Duroy and his team and we are always excited to receive their feedback on wines and brands produced at Du Toitskloof.

Two of our top-rated wines (90+pts) this quarter are also maiden vintages and includes our very first addition to the old vine project; Du Toitskloof Old Vine Sauvignon Blanc 2020.

The latest Du Toitskloof vintages for Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinotage and Shiraz scored Gold (85pts-89pts) as well as Quest Old Vine Chenin Blanc 2020 which has not yet been released.

Here are our four top-performing wines:
